Thank you for visiting Beauty Blends! We hope you're enjoying your new eyelash extensions!  Please review the information below to keep your lashes looking beautiful.

 

• Your eyelash extensions should not be wet for a minimum of 12 hours for curing and quality purposes. Cleansing your face and around the eye area is safe. Take special care and gently cleanse the eye area and do not scrub or rub your eyes (dry by dabbing with a gentle towel).  Avoid any type of oil-based product around the eyes. Resuming with normal activities is safe (face washing, swimming, or workout/sweat, etc). 

 

• Do not use waterproof mascara.  Most brands of mascara contain chemical properties and oils that will break down the adhesive.  Removing mascara from your lashes can cause the extensions to fall off prematurely as well.  If you want to further enhance your lash extensions, we have recommendations that are ideal for coating your extensions. Ask your lash stylist for more information about Xtreme Lash beauty cosmetics.​

 

• Do not use a clamp-style eyelash curler on your extensions. This can permanently damage your extensions and natural lashes. Eyelash extensions require love and attention and it would be great to keep them groomed with the mascara brushes that your stylist has provided. 

 

• Please avoid steam, hot baths, essential oil baths and moisture such as saunas. This will cause your lashes to have more retention. 

 

• Be sure to schedule 2 to 3 weeks for timely touch-ups. This part is extremely important, this will keep your lashes looking full, natural, and healthy.

 

• Do not attempt to remove the extensions yourself.  Please have them properly removed by your professional. Healthy lashes are happy lashes.​

 Common Questions:

 

"Can I use eyeliner, eye shadow, or make-up?"

Yes you can, but please avoid oil base products. I recommend using Xtreme Lash cosmetics, they are made safe and suitable for eyelash extensions. (No waterproof eyeliner or mascara)

"Can I get them wet?"

Yes you can, but please wait 12 hours after your application, you would want your adhesive to set and dry completely.

"Do Eyelash Extensions hurt?"

They do not hurt if your professional is applying them properly. All tools are sterilized, cleaned and all implements are disposed immediately.

What is the difference between Faux Mink, Real Mink, and Silk Lashes?

Silk lashes are comparable to faux mink depending on the brand. Faux Mink is a premium type of synthetic lash that was intended to mimic real mink  lashes. It is a vegan friendly option as oppose to real mink which is made form real fur.

How Long do eyelash extensions last?

It depends on the individual, aftercare is extremely important and we suggest getting refills every 2-3 weeks. Your retention mainly depends on your aftercare.
